Keynote, Workshop & Workbook: “The Life Brief”
Bonnie Wan a Partner and Head of Strategy at Goodby Silverstein and Partners and creator of “The Life Brief.” As a career brand strategist, Bonnie has spent the last three decades working with companies to articulate the essence of who they are and why they exist through a tool called the Brief. This simple and sharp articulation of purpose is used to keep brands anchored in who they are while offering a springboard for creative action.
In 2010, Bonnie applied this approach to her own life and everything changed…her career, her marriage, herself. She calls this practice “The Life Brief.” Bonnie’s keynote, workshop and workbook are powerful “experiences” that guide people to develop their own Life Brief to use as a north star that evolves as they do.

KEYNOTE: The Life Brief
“It’s my hope that the life brief can help free people from the shackles of comparison to craft a life anchored in what matters most. In the book, "The Great Work of Your Life," author Stephen Cope observes, "In knowing what truly matters, we are liberated from our striving to be somewhere else or someone else.
The Life Brief is a practice in reimagining what’s possible while reconnecting to what’s true, freeing us from envy, confusion and regret. In answer to the common debate question about if whether people can have it all, I say, you can’t have it all, but you can have all that matters.”
WORKSHOP: The Life Brief
The brief. It’s the essence of a brand, distilled to a single page. It’s the starting point for every project, whether it’s an ad, a product or a brand experience. And ultimately, it’s a North Star for future direction and a springboard for action. As a veteran advertising strategist, I’ve spent over 25 years writing briefs for world-class brands. Then, in a moment of personal turmoil, I stopped and wondered, why not write one for myself?
The Life Brief is a practice in reimagining what’s possible while reconnecting to what’s true, freeing us from envy, confusion and regret. In answer to the common debate question about if whether people can have it all, I say, you can’t have it all, but you can have all that matters.
WORKBOOK: The Life Brief
“The Life Brief Workbook” is designed to inspire and nudge you towards writing your own Life Brief. It is filled with tools inspired by my work as a brand strategist, now applied to helping people get clear and connected to what matters most. These exercises are designed for you to revisit again and again. Because your Life Brief is a living document, you can come back to it anytime you find yourself lost or confused.
This workbook is not designed to be precious or perfect. It’s a place to dig in, get messy and play with possibility. Get one or get five. There are no rules.
